Understanding Overseas Qualifications

Day 1 – INDONESIA and MALAYSIA

Unravel the complexities of both these markets by learning in detail about the educational qualifications that underpin them.

Both countries award a myriad of qualifications and certificates, and the relative standing of these can be confusing.

In Indonesia, the school-leaving qualification is increasingly being accepted by Australian institutions for entry to undergraduate degrees.  Among other things, we will look in detail at this qualification as well as the national final examination, and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of both.

In Malaysia, there is a wide variety of qualifications at each level, including school-leaving qualifications, and we will analyse each of them.

Both countries have strong accreditation systems that deserve attention as well.

In addition to the above, this seminar will cover the following comprehensively for each country:

  • Detailed information on the education system in general
  • School-leaving qualifications and national final examinations
  • Post-secondary options and available qualifications
  • Types of higher education institutions
  • Undergraduate qualifications – types, structure and characteristics of Bachelor degrees
  • Graduate qualifications – structure and characteristics of Master and Doctoral degrees
  • Accreditation systems
